St Monica Primary School have cherished the freedom of the new computing curriculum and are building a rich resource base to ensure each child experiences a variety of contexts whilst still developing their computational language and thinking.
In KS1, we have been developing our use of algorithms to program Bee-Bots. Through Bee-Bots we have ensured each child learns the computational skills and language such as debug, execute and algorithms.
KS2 have developed their computational skills through creating higher level algorithms. This includes using a programme called ‘Scratch’ which enables the children to control a variety of objects/characters using advances algorithms.
These include if/else statements, motion control, variables and user interaction.
